Kenneth Moody graduated from St. Michael's College, then worked at the Belize City Post Office before working during the 1960 and 70s at Radio Belize in Belize City. He was a member of the Belize Volunteer Guard from 1967 to 1980 when it along with other units from the Police Department formed A and B Companies of the Belize Defence Force. He served in the volunteer element attaining the rank of Corporal. He left for the United States where he worked at Kennedy Airport for nine years for AFBS Northwest Airlines until 1992. From 1990 until 31 August 2010 he served in the Brentwood Legion Ambulance as Treasurer on the Board of Directors and President and Chief of the largest volunteer organization in the USA for two years, 1999 and 2000, He's also a Certified Emergency Medical Dispatcher. Mr. Moody worked at The Emergency Ambulance Services and Medical Express Ambulance Services for sixteen (16) years, also working as a painter for the Sisters of St. Joseph Convent in Brentwood, Long Island
from 1981 to July 31st, 2010 and is now retired.
MOOD FM Belize 106.3 has been a dream of his from teen years and it is now a reality. Kenneth has been training villagers from Lord's Bank Village to run this station, many workers from the village are doing great from this experience and could be heard during MOOD FM's testing session at 93 Cahal Pech in the heart of the BDF community.
The radio station is owned solely by Mr. Kenneth Moody financed by his savings and pension. Mr. Moody has been a volunteer community minded person and is the son of Catherine Craig and Quentin Moody both born in Belize. His father died in 1990 and his mother resides in Brooklyn, New York. His Mom (Catherine Craig) and Mother-in-law, Mrs. Iris Rowley-Thompson, who passed and never got to see it come to fruition. They both were very instrumental along with many other family members.
Mr. Moody is married to Anita Walcott of Belize City now living in Long Island, New York. He has three (3) daughters and four (4) sons: Julie Moody from his first marriage to Janet Garbutt, Julie Moody-Freeman works in Chicago as a Professor at De Paul University; Angie Moody of Belize City is a teacher; Kenneth Moody (his son) is a Captain in the Belize Defence Force. In Long Island his daughter Darlene Moody is a Nurses Aide and Recording Engineer. His two sons Ivan and William writes and sings music in Long Island, his other son Frederick lives in Belize City and is a Bricklayer. His two stepsons Roger and Curtis Heusner lives in the USA.
MOOD FM is an oldies radio station with community programs, news, sports, regional programs, weather and Spanish broadcast . It is a very family oriented station pushing community services for Belize City, Ladyville, Lord's Bank, Burrel Boom, Hattieville, Sandhill , Crooked Tree, Maskall and other surrounding areas. Playing music from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and more. Station Slogan: YOUR MOOD - YOUR CHOICE! From the heart of Lord's Bank to the heart of Belize. MOOD FM 106.3 did its first broadcast on Sunday January 30th, 2011 at exactly 4:10 pm and has been rigorously testing its equipments and personels.Mood fm came on the air officially on 30 June 2011, 9:30 am. Its program features early morning oldies, Country music, Belizean music, local and abroad, Morning Moods and Rhythm in the afternoon. A Spanish broadcast playing Spanish oldies featuring Rancheras, Mariachi and Romanticos. Belizean Time returns followed by The Mood After Dark with soul music. Eventually weekends will feature talk with local villagers of the surrounding towns, villages and churches, easy listening music, Jazz and Classical.
